BMX – The 2012 Range

Best review on this years range of Bmx bikes that are available for 2012. With a lot of the top Bmx manafactuers competing for the no1 spot for 2012, things are really hotting up,to see who can make it to the top with the best overall machine. There are some quite expensive bikes avaliable out there at the minute, and a lot of the expensive ones are top of the range bikes with some amazing components onboard. But thats not to say that the cheap bmx bikes, are no good for competion. No i would safely say thats definitly not the case.

All of the large BMX brands have released their 2012 ranges over the past few months and this has given us the chance to take a look at soem of thebest cheap BMX bikes on the market.  Two bikes really stand out for me; the Stolen Riot and the Eastern Nitrous Cobra.  Both of these bikes are relativley cheap compared to the performance and race bikes, however, they still allow you to compete at as high a level as possible, and allow you to get involved in all areas of the sport.

As most of us know this year will be an exciting year for Bmx riders and fans alike. The Bmx olympic event takes place at the olympic park,  on 8th to 10th of august. Great Britains hope for a medal will be with Liam Philips, two times silver championship medal winner. Winner of the 2008 gold medal in beijing Maris Strombergs will be back this year to defend his title, with a lot of strong competition coming from the americans. Maris has benn one of the strongest competiers in recent years and could be the man to beat. This will only be the second time that the Bmx event has been included in the Olympic games, and it gives a great boost to the sport, which is already expanding at a great rate.  The London 2012 course is extremely exciting with a lot of tough obstacles to compete against, and it will only take the riders approximatley 40 seconds to compete.  This will lead to an enthralling event, and possibly one of the highligh of the games.
